Special Leader Notice

As of January 1, 2012 Rocky Mountain District is requiring that all leaders must have completed all necessary training PRIOR to contact with any Scout.

Most training may now be completed on line at: http://www.longspeakbsa.org/training/

1.  All leaders must take the online "Fast Start" for their program.

2.  All leaders must take the online "This is Scouting".

3.  All leaders must attend the appropriate leader specific training.

    for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scout masters - Boy Scout Leader Specific and COLT

    For committee members - Troop Committee Challenge  (can be done online)

4.  All leaders must take the online "Youth Protection"

The 3 day Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training is NOT on-line but further information is available at the preceding training link.

As a guideline…. Most on-line classes take about 45-60 minutes to complete.

You will need to have your BSA registration card number so you get credit.

We are learning more about these requirements every day. Even though the time frame is further out than initially believed, please work on your on-line items as soon as possible. There is no need to procrastinate and be rushed just before the deadline. Also please note, the Boy Scout Leader Specific and COLT trainings must be completed in person and are only offered 2-4 times per calendar year.
